Welcome to the Coarsegold, California camping page.

Coarsegold proper has just one tenting campground, Yosemite South/Coarsegold KOA, which is located just north of the casino on Highway 41.  It has many full hook-up RV spots too. This is a good place to stay if you're passing through to Yosemite or planning on spending a night or two at the nearby Chukchansi Gold Casino (which has a no-hookup RV camping area of its own). Coarsegold also has a 254-site Escapees RV park called Park of the Sierras just south of the casino on Highway 41. Nice setting, good rates.

Otherwise, we recommend the rustic and seldom full "primitive" campgrounds within the Eastern Madera County portion of the Sierra National Forest.  Many are on streams and lakes and offer good access to fishing (in season).  Most are closed in winter months.  Click a triangular campground symbol to view details. (Directions given on these Sierra Nat. Forest pages are mostly from Fresno, so please adjust your route accordingly. The more remote campgrounds are not recommended for motor homes or large trailers.)  Though hardly primitive, the Bass Lake campgrounds can also accessesd from this map.
