Welcome to the Coarsegold, California camping page.

 Coarsegold proper has just one campground, Yosemite South/Coarsegold KOA.  This is a good place to stay if you're passing through to Yosemite or planning on spending a night or two at the nearby Chukchansi Gold Casino (which has a no-hookup RV camping area).

Otherwise, we recommend the rustic and seldom full "primitive" campgrounds within the Eastern Madera County portion of the Sierra National Forest.  Many are on streams and lakes and offer good access to fishing (in season).  Most are closed in winter months.  Click a campground symbol to view details. (Directions given on these Sierra Nat. Forest pages are mostly from Fresno, so please adjust your route accordingly. The more remote campgrounds are not recommended for motor homes or large trailers.)
